PROJECT OVERVIEW:
We renovated 10,000 sf of existing medical office and turned it into a new Ambulatory Surgical Center with two operating rooms. The existing slab had to be cut, and new plumbing pipes installed within the existing slab. All new MEP systems throughout the space and a new Mechanical yard was built in the back of the property with a new 500 KW generator installed for the Surgical Center.
The space is located on one wing of an existing building which is a medical office seeing patients every day. The existing suite had to be totally gutted and built out while the medical offices were operational during the day. We coordinated with the staff every day to make sure we have barricades up and dust control walls at each area, to ensure we didn’t spread dust into the patient area. Most of the coordination is in corridors where patients were traveling so all the barricades were checked each day to ensure they were safe. We coordinated daily to see how the new work was affecting the existing building’s MEP systems. The project was phased into two phases in order to work around the office’s operations and the needs of the users’ group, so the construction doesn’t impact their business activities.
